Sarah Palin

Right up front...I like Sarah Palin! She's beautiful, intelligent, a good family Mom, a good wife, a good citizen, and I like the idea she knows how to skin a moose. There is a great deal of America's pioneering spirit in the lady, and that was responsible for making America a world power and an example of what democracy was capable of. Yes, I like her. Now, is she a viable candidate for the US Presidency? That I don't know. There is little evidence that Sarah has workable ideas to solve some of our society's worse problems. I see no real understanding of hard economic policy. I see her as committed to conservative principles that I believe in, but that is not enough to qualify her for the leader of the free world. There has to be a broader understanding of worldly matters, other cultures, the dangers of fanaticism (domestic and foreign), a grasp of good economics (not just household economics, but international), an understanding that those who govern from the Beltway do not understand people or America, a diversity of thinking, evidence of a good library in her head, strong moral fiber that she is willing to use in judgement of others, and a realistic sense of commerce. This latter is strongly lacking in the present administration. Still I like Sarah Palin, a true and committed American. So is Mike Huckelbee and many of the others. Sarah is a populist candidate in that she is well liked and has a talent for public appearances. A pleasant persona, except of course for the other jealous women. As a viable candidate for the Presidency, she will have to show more of what's inside Sarah before winning my vote.

T.S.A. and the touchy, feely Fed

It is axiomatic that when safety becomes a concern, new, abusive, unreasonable regulation results from authority. The T.S.A. pat-down and porn scanner is a prime example of run-away government regulation and unreasonable search/seizure. This will not improve with time. It is the lemming syndrome al Qaida hoped to produce in over-reactive Americans. Homeland Security loves to brag about schemes they have detected and counter measured. The truth is the terrorists need only devise a scheme, make it known, and watch DHS over-react. Like lemmings, driven by a fearful instinct, we destroy ourselves through foolish, unnecessary actions. Good job al Qaida. Keep up the knee-jerk campaign. You'll take down the government yet...or more likely an angry, irate, insulted populace will do it for you.

We, the People, ...

Yep, the people have spoken. And the message was way over the government's head...specially Obama's. Arrogance simply doesn't listen. Perhaps only impeachment would get his attention. Doubtful. Listen up, Dimocreeps, the people do not want more taxes, more regulation, more guidance from our betters. November 2 was a clear message to any thinking politician, but of course that would exclude dimocreeps. The delusional Dems simply aren't listening, and with a loyal base that never votes for any other party, why should they. The idiots always vote their imbeciles back into Congress without critique or conscience. Barney Frank is a perfect example. He doesn't even bother to campaign, yet proceeds to win the legislative booby prize year after year. More power to the Tea Party and Sarah Palin!

Bush did it!

"Bush did it" has become the fall-back position for Democratic failures for the past two years, and it will likely survive even into coming years. It is, of course, childish and immature to deny responsibility to the present administration and Congress, but it's what politicians do. On the other hand, Mr. Bush is not without a significant share of blame for America's present mess. It is axiomatic that when a country's safety is threatened, its law enforcement authorities gain enormous power and individual freedoms are sacrificed. Unfortunately after 9/11 Bush chose to expand the bureaucracy with DHS and TSA. This was unnecessary and counter-productive. Bush should have used the protective agencies already empowered and in place. Instead he chose to expand the federal government...a very bad decision. Can it be reversed? Yes, but probably will not be reversed. Bureaucracy tends to grow, never contract. Yeah! Bush did it!!

They have the media...

An essential part of taking out all political competition is to gain control of the news media so that information to the people can be manipulated. Progressive liberalism  is close to achieving its goal of establishing a one-message propaganda machine through the liberal-controlled national press. Spencer Ackerman of The Washington Independent wrote ""If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they've put upon us. Instead, take one of them—Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares—and call them racists. . . . This makes them 'sputter' with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction." The best one can describe this tactic as is dirty politics, but remember it comes from a man who would claim to be an unbiased, objective journalist. Journalism's once-vaunted standards are a joke among the liberal media. Since I was a kid, I heard never to believe what was written in the paper or spoken by so-called reporters...now more than ever believe not! This country is being drug down into a black pit of nothing-is-sacred, nothing matters, particularly morality or ethics. Everything goes, if it feels good do it! Honor is a joke. Integrity is for fools. Those who can must support those who won't. Sad.

The First American Dictator

Each day the arrogance and compiling self-conceit grows and grows. Having a slavish Congress that will walk in lock-step is a distinct advantage for America's first dictator. Mark this! There will be an attempt to circumvent the election process. It has become obvious that the Dimocratic quest for absolute power can only be stopped through free elections. Therefore the election process must be perverted somehow. The Dims can of course, rely on their automatons, the liberal fear-mongers, to continue their blind support. It is the independents that supported Obama's election who will now engineer a sweeping defeat of destructive, self-centered policies and dictatorial rule. The smear campaigns are in full swing and will only continue to heat up well before voting begins.

They must be stopped...

Obama and his flunkies in Congress have to be stopped. There is no longer any doubt that Barak Obama has designated himself to be America's first (and hopefully last) dictator. In this country government should follow the Constitution, no where in which is there a clause empowering a single party system. The Dimocreeps are assuming absolute power in ramming through Obamacare. The country, our democracy, will suffer fatally if this is allowed. Impeachment proceedings are now justified, but more...a general vote of confidence must be held to put this Congress in its place, once and for all. These power-hungry imbeciles must be put back into the genie's bottle. Congress must get back to Constitutional guidance and the founding principles of our country. The path to the utter destruction of this country has now been taken by the secular progressive movement and its servant, the US Congress. They must be stopped before their arrogance drags this country into the inevitable consequence of dictatorship.

Proven Incompetence?

Tell me, if you had a trial lawyer who, through consistent acts of incompetence, got you into a bunch of trouble, would you not fire him? If you went to a doctor with a stomach ache, and he amputated your foot, would you go back to him for a fever? So why do we keep Obama in the White House when he has graphically demonstrated his arrogance and incompetence by destroying the US financial system and trying to take over very aspect of American life. He has proven himself to be an enemy of the American people by handing out citizens' rights to the terrorists who want to kill us. He has alienated every country he has visited, he accepted a Peace Prize to which he held no entitlement, when the people say "no" to Obamacare, he clearly calls us too stupid to understand and persists in cramming his legislation down our throats, he spends our taxes like a drunken sailor, he lavishes himself and his family at our expense, and he lies consistently. Is this the description of a leader of the free world? So where is the impeachment movement? No, not to be. We elected him, and we must suffer three more years of incompetence. Such is the price of fad voting and liberal guilt.

State of the Union

In six or seven decades, I have never heard a state of the union speech that was not a rehash of an administration's already failing policies. Osama's SOTU was certainly predictable in that vane. I suppose conservatives should be grateful to Osama for his excesses and ultra-liberalism. Even people of liberal tilt are disappointed with the incompetency of the Obama administration. Few people in distant memory have displayed such political ineptness as our Nigerian President. If he is given sufficient encouragement by the White House lackies, he will forge forward blindly in his arrogant and partisan ways, destroying the Democratic Party in his wake. Only the Peanut President has such a record of ineptness. Go, Obama, go! Obamacare, global scamming, spending, taxing...do it all until there is no DNC left, just smoldering ruin. And you loyal worshipers of the Messiah, hang in there. It's all good, eh? Lord knows, the Republicans aren't bright enough to do any better, but at least they fain the idea of less government and greater freedom. They probably wouldn't do worse, unless we, the electorate, give them a controlling majority. If you want small government, keep it snarled by leaving both parties in the minority.
"Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them" R. Reagan.

Thank you, Massachusetts

God bless the moderates and conservatives of the bluest of blue states. America has been saved from the excesses of a pro-Socialist government by the least likely to come to our rescue. Not only did Massachusetts' special election show just how much the heavy hand of Washington is despised, but it has finally exposed a truth we all understand. but seldom repeat to ourselves. The American people don't want any political party elected to Washington to hold a majority in all three branches. Checks and balances work best when we send a mix of political beliefs to represent our best interests. Dominance by one political party inevitably leads to excess. We all need to bear that thought in mind when we go to the polls. The more the Beltway thiefs fight amongst themselves, the less we, the people, lose to them. The less their excessive spending, the less their excessive mothering, the less their constant quest for more perk and privilege will effect our lives. The less attention we have to pay to our leadership, the more we can get done. Jefferson, a wise Virginian, said it right: "A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

Air Travel Sucks

This is from a Jan 9th news feed..."Disruptive passengers caused two commercial airplanes to be diverted Friday, with military jets scrambling to escort a San Francisco-bound flight into a Colorado airport, authorities said." The jets were scrambled by the way to shoot down the passenger jet should the unruly passenger threaten to crash it into something more important than the passengers' lives. I have always thought flying as a mode of transportation to almost be more trouble than it was worth. Now I believe decidedly so. I know if you are a salesman and have customers coast-to-coast, it would be very hard to do your work by driving everywhere, but the bureaucracy has made it so difficult and dangerous to fly that we need to completely reconsider the airline industry. The biggest disservice to America committed by the Bush administration was TSA and Homeland Security. If an irate passenger just cannot tolerate the abuse of security regulations imposed upon the airline by TSA or HLS and blows off steam at a crew member, they scrambled armed fighters that are authorized to shoot down the plane. Wonderfiul! As if being 30,000 feet up in a fallible mechanical device werre not scary enough.

Rise and Decline of America

Rabbi Nachum Shifren from newswithviews.com:

"-- more than 10 million Americans have reached the 12th grade without having learned to read at a basic level
-- more than 20 million have reached their senior year unable to do basic math
-- almost 25 million have reached 12th grade not knowing the essentials of US history.

Totally aside from the tremendous waste of taxpayer money ( a recent UC Santa Barbara study estimates the drop-out bill due to Californians at $45 billion), we are creating a sub-class that can and will be manipulated by demagogues, preparing them for massive shifts in government control over individual liberties, transforming America into a third-class banana republic. We will march off to our work camps, cheerily singing hymns extolling "hope and change," thereby ending the golden period of America.
" Those of us who are now entering the golden years must realize that we have lived in an America that is no more and will never return. It was the best of the American tradition, a country that hopefully received the world's tired, hungry, and poor from the despotism of Europe and Asia. The old world has caught up to the great experiment in government by the people and for the people. More persistent, more determined, more incidious are the forces for fascism and power. As we replace traditional faiths with a growing dependence on big government, the more enslaved we become, the closer to our ancestral roots in old world despotism.

John Adams, Elitist Father of the Union

When the Constitution was being written by the founding fathers in the last half of the 18th century, John Adams tried to have voter qualifications as a part of the election process. He believed in regular free elections, but he was suspicious of the average citizen of the time. America, as in today, was populated with many uneducated, non-propertied, non-tax payers, who looked to the government for support and the solutions to their problems. Adams felt strongly that only educated, propertied, tax payers should have the privilege of the vote. He was voted down of course. The country had to belong to everyone and everyone had to have a say. Adams foresaw the time when the population of America would be disproportionately weighted to the federally-dependent, uneducated, non-propertied, non-tax payer. His vision has been realized. The Democratic Party now relies for its power base on such people, because they now outnumber the industrious and self-reliant. They are much easier to manipulate with promises and the tax dollars of others. They believe lies and propaganda, and since they have no desire for individual freedom, which requires individual responsibility, they will vote for the whiskey barrel party every time. There will be no standards of conduct, no judgment of results...just keep the whiskey flowing. Se le vie, eh?

Democrat Demigods

It is official...health care reform, Dimo style, will be shoved down the throats of all Americans, including and especially, those that don't want it. It is also obvious what the Dimocratic agenda has become...autocracy and fascism. Instead of representation of all the people, there will only be the Dimocratic Party with its policies of surrrender, apology, and elitism. The people who built this country, settled it, industrialized it, fought for it, and died in its name were and are conservative, religious, and dedicated to individual responsibility and freedom. They stand for everything despised by liberal seculists. With the subjugation of 49% of the country, a shame , a disgrace overshadows the American tradition. Congress, under Dimocratic rule, no longer is subject to Constitutional law, no longer the servant of all the people, but instead follows a path to perk, privilege, and power...the very attributes that drove our forefathers from Europe to the American experience. Beware America, we are in danger...not from foreign intrigue, but from within.

Congress and Power

Thomas Jefferson said, "In questions of power, let us hear no more of trust in men, but rather bind them down from mischief with the chains of the Constitution." Those words hold an even deeper meaning today, a time when the powerful seek absolute power. In every corner of Washington, DC, bureaucrats and the perennially elected are scurrying to find their permanent position with the coming "regime." I did not say the next administration, I said the next regime, the next hereditary prince. As America slips into a one-party, fascist politic, politicians no longer respond to the voters' commands, but instead seek favor from the all powerful. Like fawning jesters, Congress obeys its Party's precepts and ambitions, ignoring any public protest of their actions or inaction. More and more this country begins to look and act like Old World Europe, that earthly place from which our fore bearers sought escape. The privileged few are exalted; the common citizen once again subjugated.
